Tom Keane is the corporate executive vice president and senior manager of Microsoft Azure Worldwide. He has been named the 2021 Pinnacle Award winner for Cloud Industry Executive of the Year according to Washington Exec. On December 8, Washington Exec electronically presented the Pinnacle Award recipients.
This is an annual event that epitomizes the Washington Exec concept of celebrating exceptional executives and firms that save money and stimulate innovation for government customers around the area. Tom Keane highlighted several recent major successes, including the launch of Azure State Secret and Azure Government Highly Classified cloud regions.
This, as well as the development and deployment of a spectrum of edge devices that extend cloud capabilities globally. His career achievements also include participating in technology innovation efforts across the globe including Dubai and Silicon Valley. While at Microsoft, Tom Keane has been a driving force in helping government customers and partners thrive with Azure technology.

Keane served in the U.S. Navy as an officer working on classified programs before joining Microsoft in 2007. He holds a master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College, where he earned distinction for outstanding academic performance. Tom Keane is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and also studied in the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and Georgetown University.
