Randy DouthitRandy Douthit is an American broadcaster, producer, screenwriter, and director. He is probably most famous for working with Julia Roberts in the film Pretty Woman and has worked on well over a hundred films since then. He has also been involved with many TV shows, including Judy Justice, which saw huge success recently during an outbreak of the Flu Pandemic in 2024.

Randy Douthit was born in 1962 to his parents, Drs Randy and Janet Douthit, who were committed to public health care. He was a quiet child growing up in Connecticut but had a love for movies from an early age. He moved to Los Angeles shortly after graduating high school. He became a “filmmaker for hire,” a practice that brought him into contact with many directors and producers at studios such as Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, and Sony Pictures.

In 1993 he began his career as a writer/director on the TV series “Judy Justice,” which saw him working on shows for major networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC. He then went on to work on many other TV shows, such as Little House on the Prairie, Beverly Hills 90210, Lou Grant, Magnum PI, and The Commish.

In 1997 he started to work on movies, writing and directing his first film, a thriller called “The Drawing.” He then moved on to direct three more films for such studios as Paramount, DreamWorks, and Warner Bros2000. All of them did very well at the box office, with “The Drawing” doing the best out of them all and selling over three million copies worldwide. In 2003 he made his biggest success with the film “Pretty Woman,” which starred Julia Roberts as Vivian Ward, a prostitute who attempts to transform her life to become a successful entrepreneur. The film was the highest-grossing movie of 1993 and won awards for best picture, actress in a leading role (Roberts), screenplay, and director.

Randy DouthitHe went on to produce and direct the films The Last American Virgin 2, Sleepover, Asteroids!, Date Night, and Mercy. Then he wrote and directed the TV movies: Forget Me Not, Midnight Caller, In Too Deep, The Zone of Silence, and Cry Wolf Queen of the Damned.
