Since the announcement of Azure Space, Microsoft has been focusing on improving the Azure Space ecosystem as Tom Keane explains. Thanks to this partnership, Airbus feeds Azure Maps with various imagery, including SPOT (1.5m resolution), Pléiades (50cm), and Pléiades Neo (30cm). Additionally, Airbus is set to provide Azure with WorldDEM4Ortho elevation data. Tom Keane adds that this has a resolution of 24m and a vertical accuracy of 4m.
According to François Lombard, an Airbus Defense and Space director, this outstanding achievement will ensure Azure Maps users access accurate and high-quality imagery. In addition, these two brands have unlocked new cloud computing scenarios, thus equipping various organizations with insights that will facilitate innovative solutions to multiple problems, such as the predictability of the supply chain and the loss of wetlands.
