Before working as a screenwriter and director, Eamon O’Rourke worked as a production assistant on Martin Scorsese’s “Wolf of Wall Street.”

The work of O’Rourke has focused on flipping the perspective of the male gaze in Hollywood. The first feature of the director, “Asking for it” flip the usual Hollywood revenge script. A group of female vigilantes set out for revenge on the frat boys who abused them. Eamon O’Rourke calls his brand of filmmaking responsible. He believes in providing a voice for characters from diverse backgrounds. The characters in his films are those from Native American and LGBTQ+ communities.

To provide a voice for those without voices is part of his desire. During the making of “Asking for it”. O’Rourke allowed his diverse group of actors to guide him.
